Calendar of Events for Brookshire Cluster – 2012 by Date:

January 2012:

·         Leaf Blowing (Third):  Swat teams come and remove all common area leaves that are left over from fall, weather permitting.  If you move your own leaves to a common area before leaf-blowing day, your leaves will also be removed and made into Mulch.

February 2012:

·         General Assembly:                    Tuesday, Feb 7th 1554   7PM

March 2012:

·         First Friday Gathering:    Friday March 2nd Location to be decided.

April 2012:

·         Mulch Delivered:  Saturday, April 7th

·         Easter Egg Hunt:   Saturday, April 7th

·         Seeding and Fertilization: Seedling occurs in late winter/early spring (Feb – March) over all common grounds. Fertilization will occur in late March, weather permitting. 

·         Cluster Cleanup Spring:   Saturday April 21st Tentative date. Rain date 22nd.

·         Mulching:    Early April, swat teams will clear up the common area gardens and mulch gardens, trees and the play area.

May 2012:

·         First Friday Gathering:    Friday May 4th  Location to be decided.

·         Yard Sale:                      May…

·         Camping in Lake Fairfax:  May tbd

·         Gutter Cleaning Gutter cleaning occurs in late May and late December.  End units are $125 and interior units are $99.

June 2012:

·         Grass Cutting:  Swat teams will mow all accessible cluster property weekly over the summer 26 times altogether.  They come various days during the week so the weekends are mower-free.

·         Picnic:                  Pavilion behind Brookshire, June 23rd tentative date

 

July 2012:

·         First Friday Gathering:    Friday July 6th, Location to be decided.

·         Mosquito control  Six times this summer, we have folks coming to spray mosquito larvae control around our neighborhood

Fairfax County residents can recycle televisions, computers and peripheral devices – including keyboards, speakers, printers, external drives and other such materials – and unbroken fluorescent light bulbs and tubes on Electric Sundays. There is No Charge for Fairfax County residents to participate in Electric Sunday; however, they may be required to show proof of residency.  This year’s Electric Sunday events are scheduled monthly through November.
